When Arahuete returned from Acapulco in 1973, Lautner asked her to work as the site architect for the Hope house on Southridge Drive in Palm Springs. Arahuete understood the metric system for architectural concrete — in Spanish, and she was determined to show Lautner that she “could make sense of his intent” for the house.
